We are standing up, we walk, run and dance thank to the bones sustaining our body. All of them together form a skeleton.
Human body has 206 bones. Each of them has a name.
Try and recall some:
Femur, the thigh bone, is the longest.
Spine, consisting of several little vertebrae that make it flexible.
Shoulder-blade, a flat bone situated where the shoulder is.
Kneecap, a round bone, where the knees are.

THE ROLE OF THE BONES

Some of the organs in our body are delicate. Bones, hard instead, protect them from shocks.
The skull protects the brain. Ribs and breastbone protect heart and lungs.
Without bones we wouldn't be able to sit down or hold a pencil.

BONES GROW
Bones grow up to twenty years old, the development then stops: here is the reason why adults stop growing.
A baby is continuously measured, in order to control his/her growth.
A proper alimentation is necessary for bones to grow.
