GLOSSARY
Amino acids: we can compare
them to bricks of a child's toy, as we can erect buildings according to variety
and quality of the ones at disposal. Each construction is a type of protein, and
each little brick an amino acid.
The essential ones are called: veline, leucine, isoleucine, treonine, methionine,
lysine, phenylalanine, treptophane.
Antibodies: Proteins produced
by the organism, that, following an impulse, serve the function of defence.
Arteriosclerosis: disease
which affects arteries, stiffening and thickening them, thus hindering blood
flow.
Dental decay (Caries): it hits teeth enamel and
ivory.
To swallow: send food from
mouth to oesophagus.
Diabetes: disease due to insulin insufficient
production.
Enzymes: proteins produced by
the cells with the function of accelerating chemical reactions in our organism.
Liposoluble: that melts in
water.
Molecules:
union of either different or similar atoms.
Obesity: accumulation of fat tissues in the
organism.
Hormones: substances produced by glands in tiny
amounts, which regulate several functions in the organism.
Thrombosis: constriction of blood vessel, due to
the formation of an obstructive blood clot.
